Besides Yamazaki, Hakushu is Suntory's second distillery, which focuses on the production of single malt whisky. However, Hakushu uses lightly peated malt, which Yamazaki does not. Hakushu Distillers Reserve matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex bourbon and sherry casks, complemented by fresh Japanese
