In the early 60s, U. S. advisors to the South Vietnamese began adopting the camo, wearing Vietnamese made fatigues with U. S. insignia. Never officially issued by the U. S. military, the USMC and Green Berets contracted with manufacturers across south east Asia, Korea, Japan to produce Tiger Stripe fatigues.
