This isn’t quite as vibrant as the Petits Monts but it’s attractive in a riper fashion

there is the same knockout complexity that the nose displays on the intensely mineral-driven finish and overall

mocha and dusty soil plus wafts of cardamom and smoked meats

This is also very clearly built-to-age and I wouldn’t dream of touching a bottle for at least 10 years and it should easily reward 20

Perrin & Fils, Gigondas Tourelles Vintage:2013 This isn’t quite as vibrantOpaque, bright rimmed ruby. Intensely perfumed, mineral accented cherry and dark berry scents are accompanied by suggestions of licorice, candied flowers and exotic spices. Fleshy and broad in the mouth, offering deeply concentrated cherry pastry and blackberry flavors that become more energetic as the wine stretches out. Shows superb energy and mineral lift on an impressively long, subtly tannic finish that leaves behind a suave floral note. Josh
