Northern Ireland Home Service Medal Service_Royal Navy daring and unique traditionsThe Northern Ireland Home Service Medal (full size) was instituted 1st July 1992. Awarded to part time officers and men of the UDR or Royal Irish Regiment for 12 years of continuous and efficient service after 1st July 1980. Bars are awarded for additional service of six years. This medal replaced the UDR Medal.
