It's a wine for fans of the style and needs several years in bottle to balance its tannins

this is in no danger of falling apart but I foresee the balance becoming more fragile

A slightly more elegant if more restrained nose offers up spiced plum and dark currant scents along with attractive floral hints and in particular lavender and violet
