This was my debut tasting of the 500-case cuvee of 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Chasse-Temps (from a vineyard near the renowned Chateau Beaucastel)
the 2005 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is quite similar in style and personality than the straight Brunello
restrained violet and just turned earth
Lillian, Syrah Brut Zero and refreshingSweet, succulent fruit with smoke and floral perfume. The oak is a bit gee whizz on the palate, and the finish goes suddenly sour, leaving a rather parched mouthfeel with sappy oak residue. (RH)
