It was in 1976 that the Ridge Montebello 1971 was tasted and deemed to be on par with some of the 1er Grand Cru Classe wines of Bordeaux, and the outcome of the so called Judgement of Paris that put California on the radar. This drew in winemakers to try and push CA's terroir to see the elegance and beauty that is possible. This
